Hello! My name is David, and I like making stuff.

It started early—with Legos, pencils, and paper—but as I got older, I realized that most of all, I love to tell a good story. Lately, I've spent most of my time exploring how to do that with film, and over the past four years, I've had opportunities to hone my craft while living in places like Nairobi, London, Heidelberg, and Los Angeles.

I prefer to view filmmaking as a craft rather than an art. It's a satisfying, tangible process of looking and listening for the story, watching for the perfect moment, shaping light, and choosing the right perspective to share that story in a way that does it justice.

When I tell someone's story through film, I try to craft a work that reflects who they are at their core. Whether newlyweds, nonprofits, or musicians, my clients receive the result of my efforts to look into their lives and celebrate the beauty of what I see.  Often, this process is the start of a lasting friendship.

So what stories do I like to tell?

Short answer: all of them. I'm constantly looking for ways to challenge myself, expand my skill set, and explore new forms. In this website, I've gathered examples of my more recent work to provide a reference for what I'm capable of creating. Here's a brief sampler of what I've been up to lately:
